Coming from the north:
Take the exit "Freiburg-Nord" and take the B 294 and B 3 to Freiburg Stadtmitte (=Center). After Freiburg city limit (yellow sign "Freiburg") you pass two trafficlights. After the 2nd light follow the street underpassing the railroad track (you can only turn right). Now you are on the Habsburger Strasse. Soon you`ll see a Shell gas station on the left. The 1st street on the left after the gas station is the Schaenzle Strasse. You pass the "Botanischer Garten" on the right and the 2nd 6-storyed building on the right is the Institute of Biology II/III.

Take the exit "Freiburg-Mitte" and drive to the direction Freiburg Stadmitte (=City Center).  Take then the exit "Hauptbahnhof"/"Konzerthaus" and turn to the right towards Hauptbahnhof (main train station). You'll soon see the Konzerthaus on the right and the train station on the left. After the big traffic crossing, beyond the Hauptbahnhof, you would be on the Stefan-Maier-Strasse. Follow the street until the railway bridge. Just before the railway bridge, turn to the right into the Okenstrasse. On the Okenstrasse you turn right on the first cross to the Schänzlestrasse.  You'll see the  6-storyed building of the Institut für Biologie II/III on the left. We are in the 5 th floor (out of the elevator, righthand side, 1st door).
 

The streetcars start on a bridge crossing the train tracks south of the main area of the station. You can access the bridge directly from the platform. Use any line towards the center: no. 1 to "Littenweiler", no. 3 to "Vauban, no. 5 to "Haid". At the second stop "Bertholdsbrunnen, Stadtmitte" change to line no. 2 with direction  "Zaehringen" and/or "Reutebachgasse". Exit at the stop "Hauptstrasse", which is marked on the local map. From there it is a 5 min walk to the Biology II/ III building in the Schaenzlestrasse: Walk on in the direction of the streetcar on the right side of the road. Cross the Hauptstrasse. The next street to your right will be the Schaenzlestrasse. Walk on past the botanical garden to the 6-storyed building on your right. We are in the 5 th floor (out of the elevator, righthand side, 1st door).

The most comfortable variant: take a taxi from the main station to the Schänzlestrasse (distance: ~1,5 km).
