Nachweis
We expect continued participation in both the lectures and the exercises. At the end of the semester, each participant is assigned a term project on a related subject, which he/she will work on independently. The project duration is 1 week, and its outcome is documented in the format of a scientific journal article. This article is evaluated, and credit is awarded in case of approval.

Kurzkommentar
This lecture offers an introduction into modern approaches to the modeling of biological neuronal networks. The necessary mathematical methods will be developed step by step.

Covered topics include:
• biophysics of nerve cells
• dynamics of spiking neurons
• correlation and synchronization
• structure of neuronal networks
• neuronal populations
• synaptic plasticity and learning
